Poems and Short Stories

Coming back from Spring Break this week and getting all my assignments done, was quite a challenge for me. As you can see I am writing this blog post on a Saturday and I normally do not wait this long to get my assignments done, but oh well.

I read my two poems and two short stories for this week's assignment and I found one short story that I really enjoyed, "Winter Dreams" by F. Scott Fitzgerald. This story was really interesting to me, I never knew that a person could develop such a large business in cleaning golfer's clothes. The other items I read were "Araby" by Joyce, "A River-Merchant's Wife: A Letter" by Pound, and "Susie Asado" by Stein.

I did find one small similarity between most of the poems, short stories, and Hemingway's book, and that was "love." However, I do not think that I could find enough information to write our semester project over that topic. I am having such a difficult time trying to find something that I can write a five-page paper about and use "A Moveable Feast" as a reference. I did not find anything while reading that book that I would be able to write about. I am hoping that Mr. Burkhead will give me some ideas to get the ball rolling on finding a topic. It will be due before we know and I do not want to wait until the last minute!

  1. I am with you with the time change. As far as the 5 page paper. I am so done for. I am totally lost and I hope for the best. The short stories are confusing and all over the place. I hope you have some luck with everything. Catrina
