For this weeks assignment I read "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" by Ambrose Bierce. This short story was very interesting to read and really gave the reader a vivid image of what was happening. It was interesting that in the beginning of the story the man is official going to die, then the middle gives you the glimmer of hope that maybe he would live after all, but in the end the author brings you back to the reality that the man really does die, he was just oblivious to what was happening at the moment.
I have mixed feelings about this being the last required blog entry and blog responses. I am happy this is the last blog entry and responses because this lessens my homework load by a small amount per week. However, I have enjoyed the blog entries and responses because they give me a chance to share with my classmates the trials and tribulations I am having with this English class and see what their problems are as well.
All in all, I have enjoyed this class thus far and I am ready for whatever challenge this class brings me throughout the rest of the semester. Hopefully everyone does very well for the rest of the class! Good Luck!

I read "The Cask of Amontillado" but someone died in mine as well. It is interesting that two of the stories involved death in some way. I'll have to go back and read the other stories and see what they're all about.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the end of the blogs, I'm kinda sad to see them go. I enjoyed reading about everyone else's life and it was nice to have some easy points every week.
I have read the same short story and I have enjoyed it as well and how the author goes about the entire story. I thought it was very interesting how the author did get you involved in a different way than most.
ReplyDeleteAs for the blog entries, I have enjoyed them as far as the getting to know others in the class and their feelings and beliefs on things, but at the same time it will be one last thing to have to do for homework every week.
Have a great week and the rest of the semester.
